Farm House in Winter

Today Brought the Cold

There was a thin clean layer of Winter that coated everything in the yard.

Frost.

The air was crisp, it was clean, and breathing it filled my lungs with hope and caressed my cheeks when I smiled.

The cold was friendly, it was fresh and new. Not like the bitter temperatures at the end of the season when even Winter longs for Spring.

Today brought the cold, and with it came joy, and expectation, and hope. The cold reminded me of memories not yet made with family and friends, holidays not yet here like Thanksgiving, and the New Year.

Today’s cold was refreshing – It soothed the soul.
